This article explains how to connect Shopify to Influence so you can track sales performance across campaigns. The process includes two steps: generating the Admin API access token in Shopify and connecting your shop in Influence.
Generating the Admin API access token in Shopify
Go to your Shopify account and navigate to Settings.
Under the settings menu, select Apps and sales channels.
If you don't yet have an app, click on the Develop apps button at the top and create a new one.
Click Create an app.
Name the app (for example: Test) then click Create app. Your app may take a few moments to be created.
Shopify will refresh when your app has successfully been created. At the top of your app, select the API credentials tab.
Click Configuration Admin API scopes. In the Filter access scopes search bar, search for each of the scopes in the list below. When searched for, these scopes will return a checkbox. Check the checkbox for each scope to enable it. You will see the Selected tab update with each of your checked scopes as you search for and enable them:
Required scopes:
read_analytics
read_customers
read_draft_orders
read_marketing_events
read_order_edits
read_orders
read_products
read_reports
After you have finished enabling all of the required scopes, click Save in the top-right corner. Shopify may take a few moments to save your scopes.
Navigate back to the top of the page and click on the API Credentials tab.
In the Access Tokens box, Click Install app. You will see a confirmation pop-up. Click Install to proceed.
After installation, Shopify will refresh and you'll be able to see your Admin API access token.
Click Reveal token once. Click the Copy icon to copy the token to your clipboard.
You will enter this token in the Access token field in when completing your Shopify connection in Influence.
Note: The Admin API Access Token is displayed only once. Make sure to copy and save it securely.
Connecting your Shopify shop in Influence
In Influence, navigate to Settings (gear icon) in the lower-left corner of the platform.
Select the Shopify tab in the top menu.
Enter the required information into the fields:
Shop Name: Enter the shop name you originally used to create your shop. If your shop name has been updated, you may find it in your shop URL (e.g. “ShopName.myshopify.com”).
Access Token: Paste the access token you copied to your clipboard from Shopify.
4. Click Connect to finalize the connection and you will see a confirmation in Influence that your Shopify shop successfully connected.
